Ironstone Academy Trust are seeking to appoint an excellent Trust School Improvement Lead, who can continue the improvement of teaching and learning across schools in our Trust.
This post will have a 0.7 FTE contract of employment, and will work with the Trust CEO to agree patterns of working that meet the needs of all our pupils. They will work with the Trust School Improvement Team and the HTB to ensure we deliver our Strategic Plan.

Are you a Primary SEND Teacher looking for a new leadership role?
Overfields Primary School are currently looking for an experienced SEND Teacher to lead our Speech & Language unit . This involves teaching in the Key Stage 1 Language unit, delivering outreach sessions and dedicated management time to co-ordinate the work of the unit in partnership with the Speech and Language Therapy team.
The post is a permanent part time position 4 days per week Mon-Thu. Main Pay Scale/Upper Pay Scale with SEN allowance and a TLR2b
Our highly successful unit is for pupils with Developmental Language Disorder (DLD) and severe speech sound disorder/difficulty. We provide teaching and learning from Reception to Year 6 for Redcar & Cleveland and Middlesbrough authorities. The provision is attached to our mainstream setting with the children having specific literacy and maths teaching on a morning linked to their individual targets and then integrating into Overfields mainstream school, with support, on an afternoon. This integration is very successful and part of the teaching role would be to work alongside mainstream colleagues delivering the curriculum.
The base holds 24 children split across the key stages. Children are placed within this unit by the local authority, in partnership with Health professionals through a referral and panel process, which the appointed SLU lead will contribute to. Children who attend are dual registered – some attend part-time and some are with us for 0.9 of the week, returning to their home school for an afternoon. Children do not require an EHCP to have a unit place
Children have weekly sessions with a speech therapist and SEN Support Plan targets, reviews and meetings with parents are conducted jointly with the therapists.
The chosen candidate will be a committed, enthusiastic, and empathetic teacher who enjoys the challenge of working within a SEN environment and who has high expectations of the pupils in their care. Our Language unit pupils make good progress from their starting points.
