Some children literally got stuck in our KS2 &#8216;quarry&#8217; mining clay and looking, in vain, for worms. A few children in Y5 were literally hoisted out of the clay with their wellies stuck fast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Occasionally, we have to bring in supply teachers: usually to cover a sick teacher. We did that for a class in Y3 on Wednesday. The teacher that we brought in told me (and others) that the class was the most polite and well behaved that she had ever taught &#8211; high praise indeed as she was a mature lady and has taught for many years. High praise indeed!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This week 1GC have enjoyed a trip to Cartwright Hall art gallery for an excellent workshop and all the KS1 classes benefited from a British Library workshop around the tale of The Three Little Pigs. I resisted the temptation to bring in our own three not-so-little pigs, especially as they are in &#8216;bad books&#8217; after escaping last Friday. Nursery also joined in with the Three Little Pigs, making a fabulous mess in discovering that straw is a poor building material. Year 2 had fun with George&#8217;s Marvellous Medicine (no one was harmed!).
