End of Year Leavers’ Assembly 2025

The junior hall was packed with children and staff from Nursery to Year 6 for the end of year Leavers’ Assembly as well as parents and carers for the Y6 leavers.

We said goodbye to fantastic colleagues retiring or moving on to promotions: Sandra Malone, Jess Snaddon, Rebecca Howells, Karen Longhorn, Dan Hemming. Dan moves on to take on the headship at Cookridge Holy Trinity Primary School.

We gave thanks to Ellen and to Jade for their brilliant work for the PTA.

Children recounted their year group highlights alongside a slideshow of lovely images.

We enjoyed fabulous singing, including treats from a Year 5 choir and a pair of rappers accompanying the final, amazing song. This marked the grand final school performance led by Ms Howells, after 38 brilliant years in Leeds schools.

We gave out lots of academic awards – for progress and for attainment. This cohort have delivered our best ever SATS results: way above national averages. Amina and Aaryana got so many certficates that we saved their legs by getting them to sit at the front.

We had some annual awards to present. Leah Macdonald was Young Sportswoman of the Year and Max Brennan was Young Sportsman of the Year. These awards were for sporting excellence – swimming and football respectively – and for all-round performance in sports and great sporting attitudes. Jesse Carlill and Abigail Parsons were awarded the Farfield Boy and Farfield Girl awards: consistently demonstrating Farfield’s values and ethos, and contributing so valuably to the school community.

All Year 6 children got a certificate voted for by their peers and a beautiful yearbook to cherish.

Well done to everyone at school: hard work, care and inspiration bring great results. Good luck to all our colleagues and children moving on to exciting future opportunities. We have had another very successful year and we wish everyone ‘Happy Holidays!’
